House Needs: prayers, 39 gallon garbage bags, cleaning supplies, fruits and veggies
One of the moms at Sister Pat’s House is being reunified with her children but needs dependable transportation as part of the conditions to being reunified. A generous supporter has donated a car, but the mom is requesting funds for gas. If you are able to donate, please make a note that it is for the transportation fund. Thanks!

When you’re in jail, you have to use your rec time to shower, use the phone, get your hair braided, run to the pod library, talk to the CO for updates, and ask other inmates for info. There are not enough staff so the inmates just get locked down from 5pm-11am then all throughout the day and I am wondering what happens if someone has a medical emergency...because you’re just voiceless, unheard in a cell. Lord have mercy.
The society we live in is a disaster. We have to do stuff to undo the damage that the folks on the top caused. We’re our own worst enemy. And it comes for that pursuit for prosperity since the beginning of time. It comes from the people on the top taxing folks to fund wars so they can get richer before they die. Before it was the European Monarchies who got us all stuck here but the modern-day presidents still do the same to this day. We are bred from the greediest, sadistic of the crop. And this is why we struggle with doing better.
Here I am following in my mom’s footsteps once again, taking almost the same course but a different route to find refuge in Jesus. The trauma is too unbearable. I am so glad I can escape because I can’t keep up or juggle my sins any longer. I just want a Lilly Life. I am not saying I am going to give up on my moms, dads, grandmas etc. I am just saying that this world is too overwhelming to keep playing and pretending like the whole world is not lying in the power of the wicked one. We originate from goodness and we will overcome satan's death, lies, anxiety. We will be delivered. Some of us won’t be invited to recess unless we get rid of our lil wicked habits because, honey, this is a mess. --Amada Morales

“In the United States, the largest Christian nation on the planet, 63% of the population of 330 million are Baptized Christians, that is, approximately 210 million human beings. This means that 210 million U.S. citizens cannot morally participate in the violence orchestrated by the men and women who control the institution called the United States Government without doing an "about face" and walking away from the Way of the Nonviolent Jesus, their Lord, God and Savior in order to follow a "better" way, a way "better" than the Way taught by God Incarnate…So we Catholics, Christians, go blithely on liturgically praying for peace, while incarnationally paying for war and participating in military carnage for the past 1700 yrs.” ---Immanuel Charles McCarthy

NOTES FROM 21ST STREET: In this heated political and violent action time, this statement by Jane Goodall brings us back to a basic truth. “If we act with love and respect for all living things, we will do all we can to negotiate peaceful and just settlements wherever violence and disharmony occur. I believe it must begin in our daily lives. Our love, when nurtured, will grow to encompass all life. We will not be able to sit back when violence erupts. We must be the ones to come up with creative solutions.” Let us all work towards that goal. Let our actions and our talk bring about a peaceful world. Peace, Roberta
